Seven Layer Bars

Makes 24-36 bars

 
 
1 stick margarine or butter 1 to 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup (or less) chopped pecans or walnuts 1 cup or more semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup at most butterscotch chips 1/2 package flaked coconut
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Melt margarine in 9x13 pan.  Tilt pan to coat sides with melted margarine.
Pour graham cracker crumbs in an even layer over the margarine.
Pour the nuts, then the chocolate chips, then the butterscotch chips, then the coconut in even layers.
Pour the condensed milk on top.

Bake in 375 degree oven, 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown.

Cut into bars while still warm.

Notes and Variations

Butterscotch chips may be omitted, in which case use extra chocolate chips.   Peanut butter chips may be substituted.  Justin prefers to leave out the nuts.

Reduced fat condensed milk works fine.
